Personal Statement:
- What measures do you favor to increase the number and training level of poll workers available on Election Day?
- West Virginia state code recommends and allows for reimbursement of poll workers. The current maximum allowable as reimbursement is reasonably attractive for participants. County and local elections offices may choose to recruit volunteers where needed.
- What forms of identification do you think are acceptable for registering voters?
- A government issued photo ID with registration and signature verification.
- What can the Secretary of State's Office do to encourage more people to vote?
- Voter apathy is a major problem because, people are generally skeptical and do not believe their vote count. In order to restore voter confidence in the system, we must promote and implement honest, fair and clean elections. When elected, I will implement aggressive reforms to investigate abuse of power by career politicians as it relates to electioneering, promote voter education and work to eliminate election and voter fraud to boost voter confidence. In addition, I will provide better access for senior citizens to vote and initiate a pilot project to explore On-line voting to attract young voters.
