West Virginia

JAN 2: First day for requests for primary absentee ballots by military and overseas voters accepted.
JAN 2 - MAY 7: Absentee ballots mailed to applicants within one business day after clerk has received both application and ballots.
JAN 14 - JAN 26 (midnight): Candidate filing period.
JAN 14 - FEB 5: Candidate must file personal financial disclosure with WV Ethics Commission within 10 days after filing certificate of announcement.
FEB 12: Candidate withdrawal deadline.
FEB 19 (9 am): Drawing for primary ballot positions.
FEB 19 - MAY 7: Applications for absentee ballot by mail accepted.
APR 14: Deadline for minor party and independent candidates doing nominating petitions to file certificate of announcement and pay primary filing fee.
APR 22: Last day to register to vote for primary at county clerk's office. Last day to mail voter registration application.
APR 23 - MAY 10: Early voting for primary election.
MAY 12: Deadline for minor party and independent candidates doing nominating petitions to file petitions for nomination to appear on NOV 4, 2008, general election ballot.
MAY 12: Deadline for hand-delivered absentee ballots.
MAY 13: Primary Election Day, polls are open from 6:30 am-7:30 pm
AUG 12 - OCT 29: Applications for absentee ballot by mail accepted from voters for general election.
AUG 26 (9 am): Drawing for general election ballot positions.
OCT 14: Last day to register to vote at county clerk's office. Last day to mail voter registration application.
OCT 15 - NOV 1: Early voting for general election.
NOV 4: General Election Day, polls are open from 6:30 am-7:30 pm
NOV 6: Deadline for absentee ballots by mail.

Ohio

JAN 1 - MAR 1: Applications for absentee ballots are accepted.
JAN 2: Write-in candidates for the primary must file declarations of intent by 4 pm
JAN 4: Declarations of candidacy for partisan candidates must be filed by 4 pm
JAN 14: Candidates, except presidential primary candidates, may withdraw
JAN 31: Annual campaign finance reports must be filed by certain candidates, political action committees, caucus committees (legislative campaign funds) and political parties by 4 pm detailing contributions and expenditures through Dec. 31, 2007.
FEB 4: Deadline for voter registration for primary election.
MAR 4: Primary Election Day, polls are open from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm Absentee ballots, other than those of overseas and armed service voters, must be received by boards of elections by 7:30 pm
MAR 24: Out-of-country civilian absentee ballots must be received.
APR 4: Boards of elections must complete the official canvass of ballots.
OCT 9: Voter registration ends for General Election.
NOV 1: Applications by mail for absentee ballots must be received.
NOV 4: General Election Day. Polls are open from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm Absentee ballots, other than those of out-of-country voters, must be received by 7:30 pm
NOV 25: Boards of elections must complete the official canvass of ballots.

Kentucky

JAN 29 (4 pm): Candidate filing deadline for primary election.
JAN 31 (2 pm): Public drawing for ballot position.
APR 22 - MAY 27: Registration books are closed.
MAY 2 - 19: Voters may apply for absentee ballots.
MAY 20: Primary Election Day. Polls are open from 6 am-6 pm Mail-in absentee ballots must be received by 6 pm
AUG 14 (2 pm): Public drawing for general election ballot position.
OCT 7 - NOV 10: Registration books are closed.
OCT 17 - NOV 3: Voters may apply for absentee ballots.
NOV 4: General Election Day. Polls are open from 6 am-6 pm Mail-in absentee ballots must be received by 6 pm
